These swim straight, spin consistently, and could not be simpler to use. Reel fast enough to see the blade spin, and that's it.

Chartreuse is a classic, but there's no wrong color choice when it comes to fishing Rooster Tails.

A Timeless Classic

If you're here, you probably don't need me to tell you that these are some of the most popular lures around. There's a good reason for that. Quite simply, they catch fish!

Whenever I fish a new body of water, you can bet that I'll be throwing a chartreuse Rooster Tail at some point that day. I love these things, and the fish do too.

People talk a lot about bass, but I'm telling you that hooking into a good sized pickerel on one of these bad boys is just *chef's kiss*

I will also note that it's worth spending the extra money on name brand Rooster Tails. The generic $1 bargain bin brands bend too easily (especially if you're like me and make friends with every log, tree, and rock around). You can spend time straightening them out, but sometimes they just stop spinning entirely or the tails fall off. Personally, I'd rather just spend the extra $3 and avoid the hassle.
